Santiago Aguda Agcaoili, 81, of Kurtistown died July 28 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Pahala, he was a retired principal of The Hawaii School for the Deaf and the Blind in Honolulu, member of Hilo United Methodist Church, Prostate Support Group, Huina Road Kumiai and a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life (memorial services) at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Private urn committal at a later date. Survived by wife, Miriam Agcaoili of Kurtistown; daughter, Janis (Dan) Kara of Texas; son, Maury (Danielle) Agcaoili of Waipahu, Oahu; brothers, John Rabanal of Honolulu, Ernest Agcaoili, George Agcaoili, Tony Serapion and Benjamin Serapion of California; sisters, Felicidad (John) Fagaragan of California and Agnes Agcaoili Casupang of Pearl City, Oahu; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Herbert Takeshi Arakaki, 82, of Hilo died July 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the former Hawaii Motors, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Hilo Daijingu. Services held. No koden (monetary gifts). Wayne Doming Bidal, 40, of Keaau died July 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a volleyball coach for Pahoa High School. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel.
